What a brilliant start to this half term! The children are settled, happy and excited about being at Brantfield. Please don’t forget to read the class whiteboards and look in your child’s Special Book to find out about some of the many experiences they are enjoying.
Autumn fair
Thank you very much for all your help and support for our Autumn Fair. We raised an amazing £236 which will go towards the costs of events at the end of this term.
Sickness
We have recently had a bout of very unpleasant stomach upsets which have affected children. Please remember that, as tummy upsets can be passed round so quickly, the Health Authority state children need to be off school for 48 hours after the last episode of illness to prevent the likelihood of things spreading. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
Children In Need
Room 1 - Friday 19th November
Room 2 – Tuesday 16th and Friday 19th November
We will be raising funds for this worthy cause on Friday this week. Children are welcome to come dressed up or dressed in Pudsey’s yellow and red colours. We will collect donations for Children In Need in the classroom.
Visit to Kendal Library
Room 1 - Tuesday 23rd November
Room 2 Tuesday 23rd (afternoon) and Friday 26th November
We have arranged for our children to visit the library to find out about their ‘Book Start Treasure Boxes’, join in some activities and have a story with the librarian. The children will be given a voucher by the librarian which they can exchange at Brantfield for their Treasure Box. We would be grateful of help to walk down and back; there is a list to sign in the classroom if you are free.
Autumn gardening days
Room 1 - Friday 26th November
Room 2 Tuesday 30th and Thursday 2nd December
We will soon be busy sweeping leaves and preparing our garden for the winter. We invite you to stay for the nursery session to join us in the garden. Please let staff know if you are able to help and bring along extra brooms, wheelbarrows, rakes, shovels etc. if you have them, and of course your wellies! With your help we should be able to remove all the leaves and tidy our garden – we hope!
We will also have a Family Gardening Day on Sunday 5th December 11:00am - 2.00pm in case there are any final jobs for the winter. Everyone is welcome!
Morrisons ‘Let’s Grow’
Thanks for your support with these Morrisons vouchers. We collected an amazing 2310 vouchers – brilliant for a small school. We will get some child sized equipment for gardening and some fruit bushes and plants
Office vacancy
We have recently appointed Sue Carr to join and lead the BQC team using her existing excellent childcare skills – we will really miss her in the office but know she will be an excellent addition to BQC. This, of course, means that we now have a vacancy for someone to help with admin, greeting and general reception duties. If you know of anyone who might be interested in a very varied part time job please let us know.
